Marshwood Montessori Preschool

Marshwood is a beautiful environment supplemented by even more wonderful kind, caring teachers, an incredibly knowledgeable child focused manager and has hands on family owners. We moved our children there from another local center and the transition was surprisingly easy as our kids immediately felt safe, secure and cared for. Marshwood is an amazing place for little minds to grow and develop in a nurturing environment. The center manager is so focused on providing tailored growth for kids and is always tweaking and changing the center resources to suit the kids attending. My son also adores having the owner Stu frequently on site as often there isn’t a lot of male role models in ECE environment and he is incredible. We highly recommend anyone looking for a local center should check it out.

Our daughter has attended four different daycare centers, and Marshwood Montessori Preschool has been, by far, the best experience. The staff’s dedication to each child’s individual needs and their commitment to nurturing developmental skills are truly commendable. Mamatha, in particular, is an exceptional childcare professional, who clearly cares deeply about child development. In our time there she has organised evening classes for parents, including those on child sensory development, enlightening us on aspects we were previously unaware of, and offering guidance on addressing our daughter’s sensory and behavioral challenges. She goes out of her way to develop strategies to address each child’s needs, even doing the job of an occupational therapist. We visited many centers in our search for a new daycare and are extremely happy with our choice of Marshwood. The entire team is both nurturing and caring, consistently introducing a diverse array of activities linked to global events and celebrations, from the Olympics to World Peace Day. The variety of activities they undertake is difficult to describe— even on our first visit we had just a glimpse of what they do. As our daughter transitions to primary school, we feel confident in her preparedness, especially in foundational numeracy and literacy skills. We are deeply grateful to the Marshwood team for creating an environment where our daughter was genuinely happy and thriving. Thank you team, we will miss you! P.s. the only negative review I read were from two people whose children haven’t even attended the school, one based on a visit their partner had and I think a neurodivergent child’s behaviour - which is nonsensical.

Marshwood really cares about the kids. The director and all the teachers show so much love and attention. Even though there are a lot of kids, it's amazing how the director takes the time to analyze each one and come up with personalized strategies. When we first moved to New Zealand, my child didn’t know any English, but with all the careful support and strategic help, she picked up English really quickly. Over the past year and a half, I’ve seen the preschool grow and improve continuously, thanks to their effort, responsibility, and pride in their work. With all that, I’m sure the future of this preschool is even brighter, and you can definitely trust them with your child.
