Ponsonby Montessori Kindergarten II

Circumstances found us needing to shift our daughter to a new daycare with only nine months before school -- but we couldn't be happier with how the team at PMKII warmly welcomed and supported her transition into the new environment. The kindergarten is well-resourced with many puzzles and Montessori activities that our daughter found very stimulating -- she often spoke proudly of doing her "tricky work". The teaching staff come from diverse backgrounds and the kindergarten exposes the children to a range of cultures. Some specific memories: our daughter learnt what is to be a kaitiaki and without prompting from me would pick up rubbish at our local playground; she also relished learning some bits of Spanish from native-speaking staff at PMKII. Our daughter can be rather shy and takes time to build her confidence in new situations, but the teaching staff did a fantastic job of encouraging and supporting her, and by the end of her time at PMKII she'd made many friends. Now with her first day of school under her belt, we look back and are very thankful for the experiences she had and time she spent at PMKII.

PMKII is truly an exceptional kindergarten that our family feels incredibly fortunate to have been a part of. From the very first day, the teachers and staff welcomed us with warmth, care, and professionalism. Our twin boys absolutely loved their time at PMKII, and as parents, we couldn’t have asked for a better environment for them to grow and learn. The atmosphere here is nurturing and joyful, filled with supportive teachers and friendly classmates. Every week, we received detailed reviews and monthly “Growing Letters” that documented our children's progress and development. These updates gave us a profound appreciation for the effort the staff put into observing, understanding, and encouraging each child’s individual journey. Thanks to PMKII, our twins have blossomed in ways we never imagined. This kindergarten has given them a wonderful start, helping them build confidence, friendships, and a love for learning. We feel so grateful for every moment spent here and would wholeheartedly recommend PMKII to any family looking for a caring, engaging, and high-quality early education experience.
