My two daughters attended this kōhanga reo and became fluent speakers and ready for kura by the time they were 5. The kaiako at Puawairua are strong in their Te Reo Māori and this kōhanga reo is 100% Te Reo Māori anake. We were blessed with the guidance and aroha of the late whaea Grace and her team of many hands at the time. Whaea Grace’s memory, legacy and spirit will always remain there as she played a key role in getting this kōhanga reo to where it is today.
