This was my 3 year olds first experience at school, and it truly was the most amazing. The environment, the classrooms and play areas, the routines, the beautiful children, the activities, discovery sessions, the school events, the updates, ALL the attentive and loving teachers and staff, everything about this was such a positive experience for my family and especially my daughter! Sadly we are now residing overseas but so very grateful for my childs time with Daystar. My child felt genuinely cared for and loved while at school and I know this experience will be hard to beat when my child starts Transitional Kindy after summer. It gave us peace as parents to know that there are staff that are attentive, present, empathetic, and caring. Most of the staff have been there for several years (decades) and I believe that kind of staff retention reflects a healthy and happy work environment which is also important to us. We loved it so much, we recommended it for my niece, who now attends Daystar. Thank you once again to all the staff and families that help to make Daystar as good as it is! I honestly can't say enough good things about it.
We can’t thank the wonderful team at Daystar enough for preparing our son so well for his transition into primary school. Our son attended Daystar for 2.5 years. He was so excited to turn five and to go to “big kids” school during his final months in Daystar, which speaks volumes about the strong foundation he received at Daystar. Daystar’s school ready, literacy and numeracy programme has given our son a wonderful head start. His primary school teacher has shared that he is progressing so well that he will most likely move up to Year 1 within a month of joining the school at Year 0. Beyond academics, we’re especially grateful for the confidence, independence, emotional regulation, curiosity and social skills he developed at Daystar. Our son is friendly with everyone, empathised well for his age, has the courage to make new friends everyday at every opportunity, and happily talks to other children and adults. We truly believe this confidence is a reflection of the nurturing and supportive environment the Daystar team and environment provides. Thank you again for the care, dedication, and commitment you show to every child. We are incredibly grateful.
Daystar is the kind of place where children are truly seen and supported for who they are. They’re encouraged to express themselves through creative play, guided with genuine care, and surrounded by a culture that celebrates diversity and curiosity. My 3-year-old currently attends Daystar, and my now 5-year-old recently transitioned to primary school after spending wonderful years there. Both of them have thrived — they’re confident, kind, and bright little humans who genuinely love learning. The teachers go above and beyond to make each child feel special and included. You can tell how much heart they put into everything, from daily routines to cultural events. We’re so grateful to be part of the Daystar whānau.
