Orewa Beach Kindergarten

We absolutely love OBK! We have had 2 boys go through Orewa Beach Kindergarten and honestly can’t recommend it enough. The teachers are long standing and are so caring, dedicated, and genuinely amazing. There’s such a lovely community feel, and the huge outdoor area gives so much space to explore, play, and learn. We also love the focus on sustainability and all the incredible projects and learning experiences on offer. It’s such a warm, fun, and supportive environment and we feel so lucky to be part of it. Another highlight is the Ducky Derby fundraiser they put together each year, be sure to check out their Facebook page for the event updates- such a fun day out!!

We had heard such great things about OBK from others in the community who had children there so when we moved up we made sure we went for a visit we wanted to place our boy (3 at the time). Well no word of a lie, the moment we stepped out of the car and looked over the fence we had a good feeling about it. Meeting Justine and some of the teachers only solidified that this was the perfect place for our risk taking, on the go, curious wee boy and we have never ever looked back. The teachers are extremely nurturing, always happy to advise with their professional knowledge if you need advice on certain things I.e children finding it hard to wave at the gate. Just overall very supportive. We would highly recommend OBK to anyone looking at sending their children to kindy.

I couldn't believe my luck when I stumbled across this kindergarten 2 years ago. The outdoor space initially drew me in- it is well designed, inviting and encourages the kids to be outdoors. But the most exceptional thing about this kindergarten is the staff. They are compassionate, calm and clearly delight in our tamariki. They are what makes Orewa Beach Kindergarten what it is today.
