Ngaio Playcentre has been part of our whānau for over five years and still feels like home. We've loved having a space to be part of our kids early years as well as the flexibility for five morning sessions a week, informal playdates, Big Air gym classes, shared care afternoons, and independent drop-off sessions for tamariki over 2.5 that gently build confidence and independence (and help with childcare!). Our kids have done carpentry with mum, cooked over an open fire with dad, and learned so much from the wider whānau who are there and our wonderful kaiako. Our oldest is at school now but still feels a strong sense of belonging here. For us as parents, it's been just as rewarding — a place to share the journey, pick up tips from watching other parents in action, and get really messy and wet!
We joined Ngaio playcentre over 1 year ago and we love it because: - outdoor space is massive and perfect to burn energy - indoor play is very big with amazing choice of plays and toys - supervision is 1 adult for 2 kids at the moment - parents have the opportunity to enrol into preschool education training for free - quality time between parent/child while taking part of preschool learning - Maori introduction & play on Tuesdays - New welcome activities everyday Enrolling into a preschool where we can take part of the everyday fun, while having the option to leave our child knowing he will be safe at all times is a peace of mind after reading all horrible stories about multiple kindergarten. On top of this, we found our village. I wouldn’t do it any different and cannot vouch enough for Ngaio Playcentre.
We love Ngaio Playcentre. Beautiful centre, lovely people, and plenty of learning. At Playcentre I've gained a much greater understanding of my daughter's play and behaviour, so I can support her as she grows. We now have our son there too, and he is loving being exposed to the Playcentre environment from an early age.
